TSLA - TESLA COULD HIT 1,000 ROBOTAXIS IN 2026: MORGAN STANLEY
Tesla reached a major milestone in autonomous driving by removing safety drivers from part of its Austin robotaxi fleet, a step Morgan Stanley says could accelerate driverless rollout across the U.S. CEO Elon Musk expects fully driverless operation in Austin within months and expansion to 8–10 metro areas by year-end.
Morgan Stanley sees Tesla potentially deploying 1,000 robotaxis in 2026, scaling to 30,000 by 2030 and 5 million by 2040. The early achievement validates Tesla’s vision-only autonomy and could challenge industry assumptions if safety and expansion continue to improve.(*Walter Bloomberg)
