173rd Ethereum ACDC Conference: Glamsterdam upgrade scope may not match schedule According to Christine D. Kim's summary of the 173rd Ethereum Consensus Core Developers Conference (ACDC), developers had a serious realization at the conference: in order to launch the Glamsterdam upgrade before the middle of the year, they may have to significantly reduce its size. At present, developers have not explicitly acknowledged that there is a clear mismatch between the planned scope and proposed timeline for the Glamsterdam upgrade. They only acknowledged the possibility of such a problem and stated that if it does exist, they will resolve it by the end of February. The meeting specifically discussed whether to remove EIP 7732 from Glamsterdam and postpone it to a future hard fork if an interoperable version cannot be achieved by the end of February. In addition, the meeting synchronized other developments: Consensus' Teku client team reported node performance issues discovered during the main network stress test and is currently fixing them, which has slowed down their participation in Glamsterdam; EIP 7928 requires a minor API change review by the consensus layer client; The deadline for submitting Hegota's upgraded Headliner EIP proposal is February 4th; Some client teams have completed the preliminary work of updating the library to support EIP-7688.
