[PwC: Cryptocurrency Regulation to Shift from Debate to Enforcement This Year]
According to a report by CoinDesk, PwC stated in its *Global Crypto Regulation Report* that as legislation progresses from drafts to laws globally, cryptocurrency regulation will become more defined this year, with countries that have clearer cryptocurrency rules leading the industry's development.
The report suggests that the environment will be less defined by regulatory debates and more shaped by the enforcement and competition among jurisdictions aiming to attract capital and establish legitimacy. Cross-border collaboration is expected to strengthen, aiming to enhance market integrity, prevent financial crimes, and protect investors. For crypto companies, this means higher compliance costs but also clearer rules, which could lead to the emergence of new products, banking channels, and deeper institutional participation.
