[South Korean Prosecutors Lose Seized Bitcoin Worth Up to $48 Million] According to Ohmynews, during a routine inspection of seized assets, the Gwangju District Prosecutors' Office in South Korea discovered the loss of a large amount of Bitcoin related to criminal cases under their custody. The estimated loss is said to be in the hundreds of billions of Korean won (internal rumors suggest approximately 70 billion won, equivalent to around $48 million). It is reported that the prosecutors stored Bitcoin-related passwords and other information on portable storage devices. The loss may have occurred during the inspection process due to mistakenly accessing a so-called 'fraudulent website.' The Gwangju District Prosecutors' Office officially responded to the matter by stating they are 'unable to confirm.' An internal investigation into the incident has already been launched by the prosecutors.
