Elon Musk's interview basically reflects his views on the endgame of the X algorithm.
To sum it up in one sentence, the current X algorithm essentially still focuses on dwell time.
To make the data look good, a lot of content is actually forced to dumb down under the pressure of the algorithm, which is also why motivational content is so prevalent.
So, the Grok trained on such data can only be forced to dumb down as well.
Especially when the entire platform is flooded with homogenized content generated just to grab traffic, the value of X's data assets is essentially being discounted.
Musk's analogy of truth and curiosity, in my opinion, serves as guidance for future algorithms.
I predict that in the future, algorithm weights will not only consider dwell time but will also truly implement the so-called "no-regret dwell time" for users. For example, reducing the weight of repetitive content and rewarding content that offers fresh perspectives and high information density.
Because from Musk's perspective, X is not just a part of the business model, but on a higher level, it serves as Grok's real-time database.
This means that every iteration of the algorithm is no longer purely for traffic monetization but is essentially about data cleansing for AI.
