[Atlantic Council: Europe Will Unite to Resist Trump's Tariffs] Jin10 Data, January 18 – Trump's Greenland tariff statement highlights some new developments in the Trump administration's second term: any issue can be resolved through negotiation, but alliances will face suspicion, and power and influence are the key factors. 'Those who originally thought tariffs would stabilize in the second year should realize that this is very similar to the situation in the first year,' said Josh Lipsky, Chair of International Economic Affairs at the Atlantic Council. 'Europe will see a unified resistance. On one hand, Europe has a very unified stance on the Greenland issue; on the other hand, Europe has already paid a significant political price for the Turnberry Agreement.' (Note: Six months ago, the U.S. and Europe reached a trade agreement at Trump's Turnberry resort in Scotland.)
