[It remains unclear whether Trump will follow through on the Greenland tariff threat]
Jin10 News, January 18 – Trump imposed tariffs on eight European countries due to Greenland, but according to foreign media reports, it remains unclear whether Trump will follow through on his tariff threats, especially considering that such actions could jeopardize various investment and regulatory reforms promised in trade agreements by EU countries and the UK.
In the first year of Trump 2.0, he often abandoned some of his most aggressive tariff threats, and sometimes he did so even when other governments had not made concessions. Earlier this month, Trump stated that he would impose a 25% tariff on countries trading with Iran, but so far, he has not taken any action to enforce this threat. He also previously threatened to impose tariffs of up to 200% on champagne and other alcoholic beverages, but these threats ultimately were not implemented.
