[Goldman Sachs to Raise $16 Billion Through Bond Issuance, Setting a Record Among Wall Street Banks]
According to a report by Jinse Finance, Goldman Sachs Group will raise $16 billion through the issuance of investment-grade bonds, marking the largest such issuance ever by a Wall Street bank. Just hours ago, the bank announced fourth-quarter earnings that far exceeded expectations. This transaction will also become the largest high-grade bond issuance in the U.S. for 2026. Following the quarterly earnings announcements by the six major Wall Street banks, this is one of three bond issuances launched by the sector on Thursday.
Sources revealed that Morgan Stanley has initiated an $8 billion bond issuance, while Wells Fargo plans to raise approximately $5 billion through bond issuance. Data shows that prior to Thursday, Goldman Sachs' largest bond issuance was a $12 billion transaction in 2022. The previous year, Bank of America issued $15 billion in bonds, which at the time was the largest issuance among major Wall Street firms.
