[Helium Mobile Terminates Early Access Plans, Sparking Strong User Dissatisfaction] According to Cryptopolitan, the decentralized mobile network Helium Mobile has announced that it will terminate its early access pricing plans, including the $5 and $20 monthly packages, starting January 27. The company stated that the adjustment is due to taxes and fees mandated by government and payment partners. Affected $5 plan users will receive a $10 account credit as compensation. If they upgrade to higher-tier plans (Air or Infinity) before the deadline, they will enjoy a 50% discount for one year and $50 in cloud credits. Existing free 'zero-dollar plan' users will also be required to pay the relevant taxes and fees in the future. This move has sparked strong dissatisfaction among early users, with many taking to social media to accuse the company of breaking its initial promise to offer permanently discounted rates. Helium Mobile founder and CEO Amir Haleem responded by stating that the company never promised to provide the $5 plan permanently.
