[Over 130 Amendments Submitted by U.S. Senators Ahead of Crypto Market Structure Bill Hearing] According to documents obtained by CoinDesk, U.S. senators have submitted over 130 amendments ahead of Thursday's hearing on the crypto market structure bill. These provisions cover a wide range of topics, including a complete ban on stablecoin yields, prohibiting public officials from profiting from crypto interests, and modifying the definition of digital asset mixers. The amendments were submitted by senators from both parties, including Democrats Ruben Gallego, Angela Alsobrooks, Elizabeth Warren, and Republicans Thom Tillis, Cynthia Lummis, Tim Scott, among others. Some amendments have bipartisan support, such as three amendments jointly submitted by Tillis and Alsobrooks. Two of these target provisions related to stablecoin yields in the bill, with one proposing the removal of the word "solely" to tighten restrictions, and the other aiming to add reporting and risk guidance requirements related to yields. The Senate Banking Committee will hold a review hearing on Thursday, during which senators will debate and vote on whether to adopt the amendments, ultimately deciding whether to advance the bill. A similar hearing by the Senate Agriculture Committee has been postponed to late January.
