French regulatory agency: As the deadline for EU license applications approaches, some cryptocurrency companies have not yet responded According to Reuters, the French market regulator warned on Tuesday that as the transition period for the EU's new encryption regulation MiCA is about to end on June 30th this year, nearly one-third of the approximately 90 registered encryption companies in France that have not obtained MiCA licenses have not yet indicated their plans to regulators. Stephane Pontoizeau, Executive Director of the Market Intermediary and Infrastructure Supervision Department at AMF, stated that as of now, 30% of companies have applied for licenses, 40% have decided not to apply, and the remaining 30% of companies have neither informed their plans nor responded to inquiries from regulatory agencies, which concerns them. According to the requirements of the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA), companies that are not authorized by MiCA are required to implement an "orderly closure plan" before the end of the transition period. Previously, Coinbase, Circle, Revolut, and others have obtained MiCA licenses.
