[SEC Chairman: Whether the U.S. will confiscate Venezuela's Bitcoin holdings remains to be seen] Odaily Planet Daily News – U.S. SEC Chairman Paul Atkins stated in an interview with Fox Business that it remains uncertain whether U.S. authorities will confiscate Venezuela's reportedly held Bitcoin following the arrest of the Venezuelan president. Regarding reports that Venezuela holds Bitcoin worth $60 billion (approximately 600,000 BTC), Paul Atkins noted that he does not participate in such decisions, which will be handled by other government departments. Currently, multiple blockchain analysis firms have yet to confirm claims that the country holds $60 billion in cryptocurrency. Additionally, the U.S. Senate Banking Committee plans to review the Digital Asset Market Transparency Act (CLARITY) this Thursday. The bill aims to grant the Commodity Futures Trading Commission greater regulatory authority over digital assets but may face delays due to factors such as the 2026 midterm election campaigns.
