I honestly don’t get why the gaming industry is so resistant to the disruptive changes brought by AI-generated content. Even the most high-budget AAA open-world games nowadays feel more like beautifully crafted ghost towns—grand and stunning on the outside, but completely hollow inside. The traditional model of relying on manpower simply can’t fill maps this massive. Projects costing billions of dollars and taking five to six years still end up delivering games full of bugs and doors that never open. Is it really that hard to admit there’s a limit to human labor? AI is precisely the only solution that can break this deadlock. Using generative AI to fill those empty buildings and leveraging LLMs to give NPCs real souls—that’s the direction for true evolution. Only when every door you open has content behind it, and every conversation with someone brings unexpected surprises, can the endlessly promised 'open world' finally become a reality.
