"Is ETH doomed? Bonnie Blockchain Interview drops a shocking perspective: Even if Ethereum is useful as a public chain, it doesn’t necessarily mean ETH has investment value!
In the latest episode of Bonnie Blockchain Interview, the host and Nansen CEO Alex Svanevik shared a highly controversial opinion: Even though Ethereum is incredibly useful as a public chain, it doesn’t automatically mean ETH holds investment value.
They used the US dollar as an analogy—while the dollar is extremely important and useful, almost no one considers it a “long-term hoarding asset.” Similarly, Ethereum as infrastructure and EVM as a development standard might be successful, but that doesn’t automatically equate to ETH’s scarcity or its investment logic as an asset.
In other words, “Is the network useful?” and “Is the token worth investing in?” might be two completely different judgment systems. Ethereum and ETH might need to be analyzed separately.
Should we more clearly distinguish between the “success of a public chain/crypto project” and the “investment value of its native token”?
