According to The Star, Malaysian police conducted three raids in Teluk Intan, Perak, seizing 41 devices suspected to be used for illegal cryptocurrency mining. Hilir Perak District Police Chief Bakri Zainal Abidin stated that the first raid took place on Friday night, resulting in the seizure of 24 devices. Two more raids in the early hours of Saturday (January 10) uncovered 9 and 8 devices, respectively. Police said the case involves violations of Section 427 of the Penal Code (mischief causing damage) and Section 37 of the Electricity Supply Act 1990 (illegal use of electricity). No arrests have been made so far, and the case is still under investigation to identify the individuals or groups involved.
