Boris @bcherny has open-sourced the team's internal 'code-simplifier' agent (a sub-agent dedicated to code simplification), and now anyone can install and use it for free. code-simplifier is a plugin designed as a sub-agent, mainly used to automatically or manually trigger code simplification, refactoring, and optimization after you've written your code. It improves readability, consistency, and maintainability while strictly ensuring the original functionality remains unchanged. Perfect for: Cleaning up 'spaghetti code' after long sessions of 'vibe coding' (rapid prototyping iterations). Automatically streamlining diffs before submitting complex Pull Requests (PRs), making reviews easier. AI-generated code is often verbose and overly abstract—this agent is here to 'trim and polish' it. To install directly (when running Claude Code in the terminal): claude plugin install code-simplifier To install within a Claude Code session (recommended if the above doesn't work): /plugin marketplace update claude-plugins-official /plugin install code-simplifier At the end of a coding session, simply tell Claude: 'Use the code simplifier agent to clean up these changes.' Or even simpler: 'Simplify this code' / 'Make this clearer' / 'Refine this implementation.'
