France reappears' wrench attack 'incident, three masked men enter with guns and steal USB drives containing encrypted data According to BlockBeats, on Monday evening of January 9th, three masked men broke into a residential house in the French city of Manoske, threatening a woman with guns and stealing a USB drive containing her partner's cryptocurrency data. According to the French newspaper "The Parisian", the incident occurred at a residence on the cherry field path in the Alpes de Haute Provence department. The attacker threatened the victim with a handgun and slapped him in the face, then snatched a USB drive and fled the scene. It is reported that the victim was not injured and managed to escape on her own within a few minutes and reported to the police. The local police have initiated an investigation and the case has been handed over to the local criminal investigation department and the National Police Regional Bureau for investigation. Last year, Jameson Lopp, Chief Technology Officer of security company Casa, recorded over 70 violent attacks involving cryptocurrency in its public database worldwide, with France becoming a hotspot for such violent crimes in Europe, with over 14 related cases. Cybercrime consultant David Sehyeon told Decrypt, "The baseline level of criminal activity in France is relatively high, and the cryptocurrency wealth held by entrepreneurs, traders, and public figures is more prominent. Coupled with the growth of local digital asset expertise, these factors together create a breeding ground for more speculative and organized cryptocurrency related crimes
