DoubleZero brings High Performance Fiber infrastructure to Solana. DoubleZero is a dedicated network overlay that aggregates underutilized private fiber links to create low latency paths between validators. Propagation generally gets harder as the validator set grows. Every additional validator increases the number of points data needs to reach. With DoubleZero, messages propagate through the most direct path rather than being routed across multiple fiber links before reaching their destination. This compresses the gap between the fastest and slowest validators, allowing votes to finalize in fewer rounds and blocks to disseminate more evenly. DoubleZero's private fiber network also enables multicast, allowing blocks and votes to be replicated inside the network and delivered simultaneously to a large portion of the validator set.
