Senate today & House tomorrow return for their 1st votes of the 119th Congress 2nd session, which officially began Saturday. Both chambers face a Jan. 30th gov’t funding deadline & will working later this week to pass more spending bills to avert a shutdown. Other key votes this week: Jan. 8 House override attempt of the President’s 1st vetoes of his 2nd term, possible mid-week House vote on the Dems 3-yr ACA discharge petition & Senate war powers resolution procedural vote asserting Congressional authority to block U.S. action in Venezuela.
