Wang Changlin noted that significant progress has been made over the past year. This includes the introduction and implementation of a series of key policy measures. More than 100 billion yuan from ultra-long-term special government bonds, central budgetary investments, and other funds has been allocated to support Yangtze River protection projects, such as the ecological restoration of key rivers and lakes, the treatment of urban black and odorous water bodies, and energy conservation and carbon reduction in key industries and sectors. Additionally, an implementation plan for advancing the construction of horizontal ecological protection compensation mechanisms for major rivers has been issued, specifying the establishment of a unified basin-wide horizontal ecological protection compensation mechanism along the main stream of the Yangtze River.
