Recently, Manus was acquired by Meta for billions of dollars, sparking a wave of buzz across the internet. I've been watching a lot of interviews and opinions about it. A Chinese entrepreneur from a small town continues to rise in the AI industry, with Manus CEO Xiao Hong becoming Meta's Vice President. After listening to Zhang Xiaojun's business interview series, I learned about another Manus co-founder, Ji Yichao, and his story. His father is a professor at Peking University, and his mother is a serial entrepreneur in Zhongguancun. Despite not attending college, he speaks fluent English. The team initially secured funding from ZhenFund and built their success on the AI plugin Monica, upgrading and restructuring their product concept to eventually create the AI Agent product Manus. In early 2025, they relocated to Singapore. Their precise timing and ability to seize opportunities have allowed them to ride the wave of the times step by step.
