[South Korea's Bithumb Exchange Discloses Over $200 Million in Dormant Assets Across Approximately 2.6 Million Accounts] According to Financefeeds, South Korean cryptocurrency exchange Bithumb has disclosed that approximately 2.916 trillion Korean won (around $201.8 million) in customer assets are dormant across roughly 2.6 million accounts. This disclosure stems from Bithumb's initiative to recover dormant assets from users who have not logged in or conducted transactions for over a year. Some flagged accounts have even been inactive for more than ten years. Bithumb stated that the largest single dormant account is valued at approximately $2.84 million, while the longest dormancy period spans 4,380 days, nearly 12 years. These figures indicate that some early participants entered the cryptocurrency market during its initial wave and never returned. Bithumb plans to directly notify eligible customers and assist them in recovering their accounts.
