Today, I just realized that the transfer fees for USDG are covered by OKX when using OKX Pay. @okxchinese
Turns out, on the 18th of this month, X Layer already implemented zero transfer fees for USDC/USDT stablecoins.
A lot of people might not have noticed the underlying logic here:
For a blockchain to gain traction, the most stable starting point is stablecoin traffic.
Why? Because stablecoin transfers are a rigid demand, high-frequency, and naturally have network effects. As long as stablecoin transfers are made cheaper and smoother, the activity and transaction volume on the chain will genuinely increase.
So, this is actually sending a signal:
X Layer wants to first capture the most fundamental on-chain demand—payments and transfers.
Combine this with OKX's previous official positioning of X Layer:
X Layer will serve as the default blockchain network for OKX Pay, enabling faster, more cost-effective, and more secure payment settlements.
This move targeting stablecoins has strengthened my confidence in X Layer. Maybe it’s not inactive; it’s just making strategic moves for the next big step in stablecoin payment channels. All these actions now are part of laying the groundwork.
