To break Bitcoin, a real-time operating network, would require rapid and repeated execution. If this were feasible, all encrypted data would be exposed, and Bitcoin would be the least of the problems. Modern cryptography has assumed future computational growth from the very beginning, and quadratic acceleration was anticipated and accounted for decades ago. Whenever you see fear or hype surrounding quantum computing, remember: these people know absolutely nothing.
