[Ministry of Commerce and General Administration of Customs Announce Implementation Rules for Country-Specific Tariff Quotas on New Zealand Wool and Wool Tops, and Australian Wool Imports in 2026]
The Ministry of Commerce and the General Administration of Customs have formulated the implementation rules for country-specific tariff quotas on New Zealand wool and wool tops, as well as Australian wool imports in 2026. The announcement is as follows:
1. Total Country-Specific Tariff Quotas
The total country-specific tariff quotas for 2026 are as follows:
- New Zealand wool: 36,936 tons
- New Zealand wool tops: 665 tons
- Australian wool: 44,324 tons
The tariff codes for wool and wool tops under country-specific tariff quota management are listed in Attachment 1.
2. Allocation Principles
The country-specific tariff quotas will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis according to contracts. Once the cumulative issued quantity reaches the total country-specific tariff quotas for 2026, the Ministry of Commerce will stop accepting applications.
