I’m definitely not gonna say stuff like 'Crypto wasted 8 years of my life'—that’s BS. Because I’ve actually learned a lot from Crypto, like how liquidity is calculated in tiers. Elon Musk is the richest man in the world, with half a trillion dollars in assets, mostly in Tesla and SpaceX shares. I once owned some altcoin worth $500K , but it wasn’t unlocked yet. Now it’s only worth $20K. For regular people, Tesla shares worth under $100M can basically be considered $100M in wealth at a 1:1 ratio. But what about $1B? You’d have to discount it by 10%. And $10B? Maybe an 80% ratio? Liquidity is tiered—the bigger the amount, the bigger the discount. As for Musk, he owns $0.5T, and those assets are tightly tied to him as a person. I can’t even imagine how liquidity is calculated at that level. At his level, maybe the only way to put it is this: the amount of assets doesn’t matter to him, but it does to shareholders and employees. For employees and shareholders, who hold smaller amounts, it can be converted at a 1:1 ratio. But for him, the top tier of his assets (the part that’s still growing) might only be worth 10% or even 1% of its face value. So he doesn’t even see the later growth as 'wealth'—he puts 'wealth' in quotation marks. That’s why he says (to him) the real value isn’t in the growth, but in how much goods he creates for society and how many services he provides to the community. That’s the true value.
