**[Meta's Acquisition of Manus AI May Reach a Total Price of $2.5 Billion]**
Odaily Planet Daily reports that Meta's acquisition of AI application Manus AI is estimated to have an overall valuation of approximately $2.5 billion, including retention incentives for key employees. According to reports, Manus AI completed a Series B financing round led by Benchmark in May this year, raising $75 million, with the company valued at around $500 million at the time. This acquisition is seen as another example of the rapid revaluation of exit values in the AI industry, driven primarily by the high-speed revenue growth achieved by related products in a short period.
Public information shows that Manus AI specializes in general-purpose AI Agents capable of performing various real-world tasks such as market research, code writing, data analysis, and resume screening, positioning itself beyond traditional chatbots or workflow tools. The company offers subscription-based services to enterprise clients and claims to have achieved over $100 million in annual recurring revenue within months of product launch.
The transaction has also sparked some controversy. Manus AI's early team has ties to China, but the company is headquartered in Singapore, and its approximately 100 Chinese employees have since relocated. Axios noted that this marks Meta's first significant move in the enterprise-level AI Agent field, which could help it narrow the gap in competition with Salesforce, Google, Microsoft, and OpenAI. However, the market is also paying attention to Meta's past controversies regarding data compliance and privacy, raising questions about whether enterprise clients are willing to rely on it as a core AI service provider.
