[Star: Security standards for DEX Bot products must reach exchange-level, otherwise the risks are extremely high]
OKX founder and CEO Star responded to the DeBot security incident on the X platform, stating: 'Wallet theft typically occurs due to several common scenarios. The centralized private key risk of DEX Bot products involves certain products uploading users' private keys to servers, storing them in plaintext or decryptable formats. Once hacked, the risk level is essentially equivalent to that of an exchange. Therefore, the security standards for such products must reach exchange-level; otherwise, the risks are extremely high. Risks include code vulnerabilities or intentional misconduct in self-custody wallets, user terminal devices being compromised or data leaks, and structural reliance on private key custody in automated strategies.' Star further added that the correct direction for wallet security evolution is ensuring that private key security and ease of use are not mutually exclusive.
