In the crypto world, everything is treasure in a bull market, but even value is trash in a bear market! The market has been so cold lately, colder than the weather in the far northeast. Especially those shitcoins and meme coins—dead silent, not even a peep. Finally, a new token with a million-dollar market cap, $PIMP, came out, but it’s just bad timing. I had nothing to do yesterday, so I spent some time playing around with this new platform @PimpFunApp. It’s been a hot topic these past couple of days. On the surface, they’re calling it an upgraded version of PUMP, but in reality, it’s just turning the Snowball platform mechanism into a new platform. It looks like they’ve added a bunch of flywheel mechanisms, like token dividends, buyback and burn, staking rewards, automated market-making, creator rewards, and so on. But honestly, it’s just old wine in a new bottle—nothing fresh or exciting. Back when I was playing Snowball, I already said that mechanisms are just tools to attract funds into the market; they’re not the decisive factor for a flywheel’s success. PimpFUN has been live for two days now. There are 40 tokens on the platform, with a total market cap of over $2.6 million. But the native token $PIMP alone accounts for over $2 million of that. The other tokens barely hit a few hundred thousand at best. It’s still the same old story—peak at launch, then downhill from there. That said, it’s clear the project team isn’t lacking in resources. They’re really trying to push the platform. $PIMP has been holding steady in the $2 million market cap range. In the past, this would’ve easily hit over $10 million. Given the current market, this is already pretty decent. It’s just bad timing. Everyone’s in hibernation mode, and retail investors aren’t buying in anymore. No matter how strong the team is, they’re stuck. For those who haven’t played yet, I wouldn’t recommend jumping in blindly. In a bear market, survival is the priority. Recycling old ideas with new tokens just isn’t worth it!
