Web3 salaries and benefits aren’t as high as they used to be, but compared to traditional industries, they’re still considered 'pretty high.'
Main highlights:
- Remote work (you can slack off, go shopping, or wear headphones during meetings)
- Relatively high base salary (entry-level $1800-$2300, with no sales or bonus pressure)
The current entry requirements for the industry can be summarized as:
- Youth (recent graduates or 'crypto natives')
- Understanding the industry, knowing how projects operate, being proficient in interacting on the blockchain, and having participated in most of the popular projects in the market
- Not being obsessed with speculating on Memecoins (in fact, this is a red flag during interviews)
- Most practitioners in mainland China haven’t reached the median salary level of Beijing, Shanghai, or Shenzhen. Don’t worry, I’ve never reached it either.
I still encourage friends to actively participate in this industry, but during the process, I hope everyone keeps the following in mind:
- Don’t lose faith in the industry. Avoid joining teams that are only focused on launching tokens without any meaningful purpose—these teams usually don’t make money.
- When joining, make sure there’s a basic salary package. Don’t get too caught up in 'learning' or 'personal growth,' unless you’re planning to work there for less than a month.
- Live in the moment. Every day, every second, look for innovation and change. For example, observing DEX/CEX, CeFi/PayFi, DeFi/liquid MM... Not only will you make money, but you’ll also smoothly advance your career.
