[Hong Kong Police: 1 Billion Yen Virtual Currency Exchange Shop Robbery, 15 Arrested]
According to Hong Kong media outlet HK01, last week, two employees of a Japanese company engaged in virtual currency and luxury goods business traveled by car to a virtual currency exchange shop in Sheung Wan, planning to exchange 1 billion yen (approximately 50 million Hong Kong dollars) stored in four suitcases into virtual currency and Hong Kong dollars. However, they were robbed at knifepoint. Hong Kong police disclosed that 15 people have been arrested so far, with 7 of them charged with conspiracy to commit robbery. Authorities are currently tracing the whereabouts of the funds, and the investigation is ongoing. More arrests cannot be ruled out.
