Kaspersky reveals a new type of information-stealing malware called Stealka, which spreads through game mods, cheats, and pirated software. It disguises itself on platforms like GitHub, SourceForge, and Google Sites, primarily targeting Chromium/Gecko browsers and their extensions. It can steal autofill data, login credentials, and credit card information, while directly attacking crypto wallets and 2FA extensions. Known targets include 80+ crypto wallets, such as Binance, Coinbase, MetaMask, Trust Wallet, and more, attempting to obtain seed phrases and private keys.
