[Data: U.S. household stock holdings surpass real estate as a percentage of net worth for the third time in 65 years] BlockBeats reports that on December 22, KobeissiLetter released data showing that the current rally in the U.S. stock market is historic. The proportion of stocks held by U.S. households as part of their net worth has surpassed real estate, marking the third time this has occurred in the past 65 years. Meanwhile, the proportion of corporate stocks and mutual funds as part of net worth rose to approximately 31% in Q2 2025, setting a record high. Since 2008, this proportion has more than doubled. By comparison, the peak during the dot-com bubble in 2000 was around 25%. At the same time, the proportion of U.S. household real estate assets as part of total net worth fell below 30% in Q2, for the first time since 2021, significantly lower than the peak of 38% recorded before the 2006 housing bubble burst.
