I predict that prediction markets will reshape the existing DeFi ecosystem. To put it simply, prediction markets are just gambling. As far as I know, leaving aside the legal platforms worldwide, a few international online gambling platforms generate trillions in annual turnover, with profits in the tens of billions. If a prediction market generates tens or hundreds of billions in annual turnover, it would be insanely profitable. They wouldn’t even need to bet against users—just taking a cut would be enough to rake it in.
