U.S. federal prosecutors, in collaboration with international law enforcement agencies, have shut down the online service E-Note, which is accused of being used for cryptocurrency money laundering. Criminal charges have been filed against its alleged operator, 39-year-old Russian citizen Mykhalio Petrovich Chudnovets. Prosecutors claim that since 2017, the service has transferred over $70 million through its platform and a 'money mule' network, with funds linked to ransomware attacks, account takeovers, and other cybercrimes. Law enforcement has seized E-Note's servers, mobile apps, and related websites, and obtained customer databases and transaction records to support further investigations.
