Senate today passed bipartisan legislation by unanimous consent to rescind a provision in the 2026 NDAA defense bill, now headed for President Trump, which would relax current rules for military aircraft flying around Ronald Reagan National Airport following the January midair military helicopter-commercial airline collision. The Rotorcraft Operations Transparency and Oversight Reform (ROTOR) Act, which now heads to the House, increases oversight of military helicopter flights and imposes stricter safety rules.(Craig Caplan)
