When I am most humble, it is when I make money the fastest.
As the airdrop draws to a close, we look back on all airdrops over the past 23 years.
I have received over 50 good airdrops in total, some of which were obtained with studios I have worked with for many years, and most of them were obtained on my own. I won't say how much you took. Those who come in now will only think you're bragging because they haven't seen that prosperous era.
I have also been severely rejected by over a dozen projects, including this year's Union, Towns, Lagrange, Sonic, Linea, as well as well-known ones such as l0, Altlayer, Lens, and so on.
I've been thinking, why haven't I received a few decent airdrops this year?
Time and space took some, succinct took some, boundless took over 200, and then it's all new, and then it's gone, not the small ones.
Excluding the losses incurred by Tugou this year and several projects that have not yet yielded results, I really haven't made much profit this year.
I deeply reflected on the internal factors:
The first one is mentality inflation (no longer humble). Due to earning money too quickly in the past two years, far exceeding my ability to handle it, I felt a bit floaty. This kind of floatiness was unintentional. For example, when I saw other bloggers posting projects, I thought this guy had accepted an advertisement again, sent an invitation link again, and posted for daily activities, which caused me to avoid researching unfamiliar projects and miss out on many projects. In fact, many people also have this common problem. Nowadays, it is popular to curse KOLs, this KOL garbage, that KOL parallel goods. Everyone thinks they are awesome, and I admit that you are all awesome. I want to learn from you, I just want to make money. You are all my teachers. For example, in the case of Lighter's extreme exam after September, my strategy was learned from a child who loves to share.
The second one is path dependence (carving a boat and seeking a sword). Previously, I mentioned the "Six Forces Theory of Brushing Hair", which includes collection, insight, execution, persistence, technology, and productivity. I have no problems in information collection, project insight, and personal execution, and in 2022, through collaborating with a great partner in a studio, I supplemented team execution, script technology, and endless persistence, ultimately achieving exaggerated productivity. Those girls really hit me five times. But this year when I was researching projects, I always used outdated frameworks to apply to current projects, and those project parties also learned to disguise themselves by measuring their standards, so they always accurately hit the wrong projects. And I can no longer discover potential stocks in the first place, I realize that I am no longer an alpha hunter, disappearing from the crowd.
The third one is actually the most crucial one, which is not favorable for me this year. Someone told me at the beginning of the year that I might encounter some things this year and need to take precautions. I didn't take it seriously at first, until a large number of ads wallets were stolen in January, a main wallet was stolen in February or March, several projects were reversed, and there hasn't been a decent airdrop since October. I've quit playing games but haven't received any big results, and it's been fluctuating all year. I have always believed in fate, and now I believe even more in fate. The things written in fate are beyond my control. I am pleased that next year is expected. All of this is finally coming to an end.
We won't discuss external factors anymore. As you all know, there are no knockoff cows. Tugou Coin has suppressed the VC coin market, and the expected market value of airdrops is getting lower and lower.
In fact, the fundamental dilemma of the industry is the lack of new quality assets and new quality asset issuance methods. This was mentioned by me in the first half of the year, and I noticed that someone is citing it. (Including what is the best selling time for airdrops, which is the moment of receiving them, followed by within three days. I have also seen many people using them, indicating that there is resonance among everyone).
From BTC and ETH to later piles of mineral coins, primitive Tugou coins, VC coins, and even NFT, domain names, inscriptions, etc., all of these belonged to the new quality assets of that time. And new asset issuance methods include mining, ICO, NFT unboxing, stablecoin spiral mining DeFi, old VC accumulation, new Tugou issuance of internal and external disks, etc.
In this round, neither of them appeared, so the rest can only be on-site PVP
The airdrop industry is becoming increasingly difficult to operate, project teams are becoming less human, studios are closing down more and more, and there are fewer and fewer people left on site. It seems like a balance can be achieved, but the remaining players in the arena are millennial foxes, and the surviving players are engaged in hand to hand combat, punching to the point of flesh. I still hope to learn more from other players.
However, most of the content that currently occupies traffic on Twitter has zero value, so we can only slowly search for those lost gems and remain humble!
