[Suspected Robbery at Cryptocurrency Exchange Shop in Mong Kok, Hong Kong]
Odaily Planet Daily News – On the evening of December 13, a suspected attempted robbery occurred at a cryptocurrency exchange shop in Mong Kok, Hong Kong. At around 8 PM, police received a report from a security guard stating that a suspected robbery had taken place in the stairwell of a shopping mall at 608 Nathan Road.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the 46-year-old male victim, the owner of the cryptocurrency exchange shop at the location, was preparing to close the shop and leave when he was suddenly approached by two men demanding him to open the door, allegedly attempting to commit robbery. Subsequently, a third suspected accomplice appeared.
The victim, along with his wife, got into a scuffle with the three men. During the altercation, the male victim sustained an injury to his finger and was sent to Kwong Wah Hospital for treatment. He was conscious upon arrival at the hospital.
After conducting an on-site investigation, police preliminarily believe that the victim did not suffer any financial loss. Authorities are currently reviewing CCTV footage from the scene and tracking the whereabouts of the suspects involved.
The shop in question is located on the first floor of W Plaza, President Commercial Building. A small amount of blood was found on the staircase leading to Soy Street. The case is still under investigation. (Ming Pao)
