According to Decrypt, Carl Rinsch, the director of the movie ‘47 Ronin,’ has been found guilty on seven charges, including wire fraud and money laundering, for misappropriating $11 million provided by Netflix. He faces a maximum sentence of 90 years. Prosecutors stated that he used the funds for cryptocurrency investments and extravagant spending, including purchasing luxury cars, high-end goods, and paying off credit card bills. Netflix had originally planned to fund his production of the series ‘Conquest,’ but the project was canceled in 2021.
