[US CFTC Issues 'No-Action Letters' to Polymarket, Gemini, and Others, Easing Data Compliance Requirements] BlockBeats News, December 12 – On Thursday, the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) issued 'no-action letters' to Polymarket, PredictIt, Gemini, and LedgerX/MIAX, announcing that under certain conditions, these companies are not required to meet some regulatory requirements related to recordkeeping and may be allowed to clear contracts through third-party clearing members. According to the CFTC's press release, these 'no-action letters' indicate that the regulator will not take enforcement actions (i.e., accuse them of violations) regarding the following matters: — Compliance with recordkeeping requirements related to certain swaps; — Failure to report binary options-related transaction data to swap data repositories. The CFTC stated: 'These no-action letters apply only to very limited circumstances and are comparable to letters previously issued by the regulator to other similarly situated designated contract markets (DCMs) and derivatives clearing organizations (DCOs).'
