[State Street Bank: The Federal Reserve is weighing the practical necessity of a 3% target interest rate] Jin10 News, December 11 – Marvin Loh, an analyst at State Street Bank, stated that while the Federal Reserve cut interest rates as expected, this can only be interpreted as a hawkish move because officials did not change their forecasts for the next two years. He pointed out: 'This will cause interest rates to very slowly drift toward the theoretical neutral rate of 3%. Given the significant upward revision of GDP in the Summary of Economic Projections (SEP), the inclusion of the word "extent" in the statement to describe additional policy adjustments suggests that some members of the Federal Open Market Committee are considering the practical necessity of reaching the current long-term "dot plot" target of 3%.'
