Miden's CEO @0xMiden, bobbinth @bobbinth, has welcomed François Garillot, his former colleague from the Libra/Diem project, to join Miden. Garillot previously worked as an engineer at Mysten Labs (the development company behind the Sui blockchain) from November 2021 to December 2022. He primarily focused on developing Sui's core consensus protocols and infrastructure, including Narwhal (mempool), Tusk and Bullshark (consensus algorithms), as well as the subsequent Mysticeti multi-proposer consensus implementation. He also contributed to the implementation of Sui Lutris, a major upgrade for Sui that combines broadcast and consensus mechanisms to achieve sub-second finality. François Garillot holds a PhD in computer science and formal verification. At Miden, he is responsible for full-stack cryptography work: virtual machine design, backend verification, and protocol engineering. He is dedicated to making zero-knowledge proof technology fast, reliable, and practical.
