According to the data, the CPI rose 0.7% year-on-year, with the increase expanding by 0.5 percentage points compared to last month, marking the highest since March 2024. The year-on-year increase was mainly driven by the shift in food prices from a decline to an increase. Food prices turned from a 2.9% decline last month to a 0.2% increase, with their impact on the year-on-year CPI shifting from a 0.54 percentage point drag last month to a 0.04 percentage point boost. Among food items, fresh vegetable prices turned from a 7.3% decline last month to a 14.5% increase, marking the first rise after nine consecutive months of decline, contributing approximately 0.49 percentage points more to the year-on-year CPI compared to last month. Fresh fruit prices turned from a 2.0% decline last month to a 0.7% increase. Beef and lamb prices rose by 6.2% and 3.7%, respectively, with both showing expanded increases. Pork and poultry prices fell by 15.0% and 0.6%, respectively, with both showing narrower declines. Energy prices fell by 3.4%, with the decline expanding by 1.0 percentage points compared to last month, including gasoline prices, whose decline expanded to 7.5%.
