ZKsync Lite (formerly known as ZKsync 1.0) was launched in June 2020, primarily targeting Ethereum payment scenarios, supporting token transfers, atomic swaps, and NFT minting, but lacking smart contract functionality. The team stated that it has "fulfilled its mission" as an early zero-knowledge technology validation platform, laying a critical foundation for subsequent ZK systems. According to L2BEAT data, approximately $50 million in assets currently remain on ZKsync Lite, with the network processing fewer than 200 transactions daily. The team emphasized that asset security will not be affected, and withdrawals to the Ethereum mainnet will continue to function normally during this period.
