99% of users don’t care how decentralized a chain is. What they care about is: Is it fast? Is it cheap? Can I make money today? The only ones truly willing to pay for 'decentralization' are two groups: institutions (security, compliance needs, RWA, ETF channels) and a very small number of ideological users (<0.5%). Decentralization was never about helping retail investors make more money, but it is the lifeblood of the industry. Most people don’t notice it in normal times, but in extreme situations, it’s the ultimate safeguard. Perhaps the future evolution will be this: use two of the most decentralized base chains to safeguard the industry’s core; use many semi-decentralized L2 chains/a small number of L1 chains to meet the needs of the vast majority of users.
