[Stablecoin Protocol USPD Suffers 'CPIMP' Attack, Losing Approximately $1 Million]
The stablecoin protocol USPD has suffered a 'CPIMP' attack, resulting in a loss of approximately $1 million. USPD officials confirmed that the attacker exploited the deployment phase by using Multicall3 to preemptively initialize the proxy, seize administrator privileges, and masquerade as an audited implementation contract. The attacker subsequently minted approximately 98M USPD and transferred around 232 stETH.
USPD has urged users to immediately revoke all token authorizations to the protocol and has disclosed the attack addresses: 0x7C97…9d83 (Infector) and 0x0833…215A (Drainer). The official statement noted that they are collaborating with law enforcement and white-hat hackers to track the incident and have pledged a 10% bounty for any recoverable assets.
