[HSBC's Tokenized Deposit Private Chain Standard is Now Compatible with Ethereum] Sun Lei, Global Head of Local and Innovative Payment Products at HSBC Global Payment Solutions, stated that HSBC has long been investing resources to advance its tokenized deposit business. The current tokenized deposit private chain standard used by HSBC is now compatible with Ethereum's EVM and aligns with the ERC-20 standard. Sun Lei mentioned that even if only 5% to 10% of commercial bank deposits are tokenized in the future, their scale will far exceed that of any cryptocurrency currently on the market. Additionally, HSBC does not rule out the possibility of adopting a public chain technology route in certain user scenarios and has already discussed programming applications for tokenized loans with clients.
