In 2015, we backed @JonChest and @Bitwage when most people thought paying employees in Bitcoin was crazy. 11 years later? The "crazy" idea just got acquired by @Paystand. While everyone was building crypto apps and speculating on tokens, Jonathan and the Bitwage team were solving a real problem. Why should it take 3-5 days and cost 3-5% in fees to pay someone across borders? They built infrastructure that pays teams across 200 countries in minutes. This is the infrastructure shift I've been talking about for years. Stablecoins plugged directly into AR/AP workflows. Enterprise-grade compliance. Global reach. Real utility. Three lessons: → Infrastructure beats apps every time. Someone has to build the pipes. → Patience pays off. It took 11 years for the market to catch up to what Bitwage was building. → Regulatory clarity unlocks markets. GENIUS Act and MiCA are making what seemed "impossible" in 2015 inevitable in 2025. Congrats to Jonathan Chester, @johnlinzy, and the entire Bitwage team for staying focused on the problem while the world caught up. And congrats to @JeremyAlmond and Paystand for seeing what enterprise payments will look like in 5 years and building it today. This is what happens when you back founders who ignore the noise and build what the world actually needs. 🚀(Tim Draper)
