Lux, revealed yesterday, is probably the most interesting AI model we've seen recently.
It pushes the boundaries of AI capabilities: it can directly operate a computer like a human, making many previously limited scenarios suddenly feasible.
Actually, both OpenAI and Google have similar models, which are commonly referred to in the industry as Computer-Using Agents (CUA)—essentially intelligent agents capable of operating computers autonomously.
The basic principle of these models is: before each operation, they take a screenshot of the screen, and then the LLM determines the exact position to click next. This way, they can piece together a complete workflow step by step.
But what makes Lux stand out is that it can reduce the operational cost of such workflows to one-tenth of other models, directly turning incremental changes into transformative ones.
Currently, the official team has opened up the SDK to developers and is offering $10 in free credits. Maybe soon, we’ll be able to use it to develop some more practical and user-friendly intelligent applications.
