From January to November this year, multiple regions have been hit by earthquakes and floods, with disasters striking frequently, suddenly, and with great intensity. During this period of constant interruptions by calamities, Binance Charity has consistently provided aid to seven disaster-stricken areas through on-chain methods, responding to every call for help with transparency and speed.
In March, the earthquakes in Myanmar and Thailand marked one of the largest on-chain airdrop operations this year. Affected users collectively received approximately $1.5 million worth of BNB, with around $750,000 allocated to each country. By August, southern Taiwan was hit by severe flooding, causing significant damage in Tainan, Kaohsiung, and other areas. Binance Charity distributed up to $1.2 million worth of BNB to local users, ensuring aid reached individuals as quickly as possible.
In October, monsoon floods in India destroyed numerous homes. Binance Charity donated $150,000 through partner organizations to provide food, water, and temporary shelter. That same month, the collapse of a river dam in Hualien, Taiwan, triggered another flood. The foundation collaborated with local organizations, contributing around $100,000 for relief efforts. Also in October, an earthquake struck the Philippines, and Binance Charity provided over $60,000 in support to affected residents in Cebu and Davao Oriental, including $80 worth of BNB directly airdropped to each victim.
In November, central Vietnam was hit by floods. Binance Charity allocated $200,000 to assist with basic supplies and early reconstruction efforts.
Over the past few days, a major fire in Hong Kong has affected many families. Binance has donated HK$10 million to support them.
As of November 27, Binance Charity has provided over $4.7 million worth of aid to eight separate disaster zones this year. Including an additional $630,000 worth of BNB personally contributed by @cz_binance and managed by the charity foundation, the total scale of aid approaches $5.33 million.
This series of actions is not just about donation figures—it’s a symbol of compassion and charity within the industry.
